GENERAL- I am a theater professional in the capital region of New York. I design scenery, lighting, and sound; and I am also a technical director as well as a production manager. I work in many fields of entertainment from educational, professional, and community. In addition to working in theaters, I also love to work with dance, special events, and recently have added video to my area of skill.
PRESENTLY- I am the Master Carpenter/Rigger at the new Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center, at RPI in Troy, NY. Two years ago I finished a few semesters as an adjunct professor at Union College in Schenectady, NY. for the Theater Production Class. For the first semester that fall I also assisted Union College as a shop foreman to help with the Dracula production, and get into the system. During my work at RPI I have been providing designs for a few productions at Curtain Call Theater, in Latham, NY, and designing shows at Home Made Theater in Saratoga Springs, NY.
PAST- I have been freelancing in theater since the late 80′s when I assisted a small touring group in Buffalo, and designing lights for the local dance companies. After attending SUNY Fredonia, and graduating in 1993, I continued another year to assist as a teaching assistant for the stagecraft class. I continued to freelance until I found a position in Saratoga Springs, NY as Technical Director for Home Made Theater in 1995. I continued to work for HMT as T.D. for nine years, and also started to design for the company, and other theaters in the area. I left HMT to work in sales for a short stint at BMI Supply in Queensbury, NY, and learned I was not one to sit at a desk, so I moved on to The Egg, Empire State Theater as a technical director, and advanced to Production Manager a year after when the previous Manager left. After a year I also decided to leave for many reasons, including making more time for my main field freelancing.
